Diagnostic Assessments

Does your child struggle with reading and writing?

Does your son find it difficult to organise his thoughts. Does your daughter find it hard to remember information?

Has your child been frustrated in the past by his or her academic abilities and do you feel that their talents are not recognised because of this?

If so, perhaps a Diagnostic Report might enable you to gain a better understanding of how young children or students learn.

Diagnostic Assessment -

  • The Diagnostic Assessment will provide a breakdown of strengths and weaknesses and a personal learning profile.

  • It will identify specific 'barriers to learning'  such as Dyslexia,Dyspraxia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, ADHD , ADD , Visual Discomfort , and offer strategies that will help to overcome them.

  • The longer assessments can be used to apply for a Disabled Student's Allowance (DSA) and as a work-placement assessment for over 16's.

  • They can also enable your child to receive extra support, for example specialist teaching programmes or assignment support which can help to improve your work.

  • Assessments are available for learners of all ages.

  • An assessment takes between 2 and 3 hours depending on the level of detail required.

Multilingual Diagnostic Assessments -

  • Multilingual learners can also have specific learning difficulties. These can be hard to differentiate in people who do not have English as their first language; however they can be distinguished using appropriate assessments.

  •  This process takes between 2 and 3 hours.

Exam Access Arrangments -

  • These assessments can provide Examination Access Arrangements (such as extra time, a a laptop or a reader) although this will not offer a full diagnosis of a specific learning difficulty.

  • This process takes up to an hour and a half.

Feedback and Learning Strategies -

  • This is a review directly following the assessment andwill enable you to understand and discuss the report in more detail and help you to analyse your strengths and weaknesses.
