Tutoring
In addition to the Diagnostic Services offered, a variety of One-to-One tuition packages can be provided, suitable for Key Stage, GCSE or A Level and designed to develop your learning potential. These would normally last for one hour each, and the number of sessions can be tailored to your individual needs. This can be agreed in advance.
The first step will be to develop a plan of action, using information gathered from an existing Diagnostic Assessment, or from discussion. We use a multi-sensory approach, in which skills and accomplishments or confidence and self-esteem are developed through a combination of sight, sound, touch and movement.

Once in place, the programme could include any or all of the following support strategies:
Spelling and Reading
Grammar and Punctuation
Reading and Comprehension
Handwriting
Notetaking
Structuring Essays
Exam Techniques
Developing Self-Esteem and Confidence
A range of structured multi-sensory and phonic programmes looking at common difficulties such as homophones and homonyms, letter patterns and syllable division.
Including full stop and comma use and sentence and paragraph construction.
Considering ways to break information into manageable chunks; skimming and scanning; highlighting key words.
Techniques to increase legibility, through spacing and letter size.
Including mind-mapping, spider diagrams and colour coding techniques.
Using visual planning to break a question into sub-questions; writing introductions and conclusions and summarising and paraphrasing techniques.
Developing memory and mindfulness techniques to manage stress and time and develop attention and concentration techniques. Making use of Examination Access Arrangements (where appropriate).
Using mindfulness techniques to understand strengths and weaknesses and challenge negative beliefs.
" Any areas of concern Alison will be more than happy to put herself out and address the issue"
- Richard, Yatton
Alison can also discuss ways in which technology might help to develop these skills.
